World of Warcraft Survey
I hope this is allowed - I couldn't find anything on the UserInfo page indicated it wasn't, but I'll be happy to delete the post if it is not allowed. I consider myself a trans-ally and I am a gamer.

I know you probably get a lot of these ads on forums, but I need your help. I'm trying to finish my PhD and all that's left is my dissertation. I'm studying people who play WoW - motivations for play and I'm trying to show the mental health community that high play times does not automatically equal problems.

Here's the thing - NO published study has given participants an option of identifying as transgender and NO published study has even mentioned players who are transgender. If I can get just 25 transgender WoW gamers, I can show other researchers that transpeople play games and they need to allow players to identify as such on their surveys!

So - Have you played WoW for at least 3 months? Have you logged in within the last year? Are you over 18 and live in the United States? Then YOU can help me with my dissertation. Please fill out my survey (there's a chance to win one of ten $10 Amazon.com gift card) https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WoWStudy

Oh, and please spread my link around! THANKS!

I fulfill all those conditions except that I live in the UK. I'd be happy to fill out your survey anyway -- I don't care about the gift card -- if it would be helpful?

I'm so interested in getting the numbers to represent transgender gamers that I would appreciate it if you filled it out.

Also, do you know any good communities or message boards that I could advertise to that are not LJ?

Sure, I'll do it after work.

I don't know of any non-LJ trans-specific gamer sites but you could try Gay Gamer's forums.
